New Releases This Week (5/3/16)

The futuristic FPS Battleborn launches this week for XB1 and PS4. The game comes from Gearbox Software, makers of the popular Borderlands series and showcases many of the same great game elements such as RPG like character leveling, online & offline co-op, and balls to the wall first person shooting action. Graphically, the game moves away from the traditional gritty, military FPS and towards a futuristic, stylized setting that helps give the game its own identity (much like what Borderlands did with its cel-shaded graphics). Enjoy!

New Releases This Week (2/16/16)

This week sees the release of Street Fighter V exclusively for the PS4. The game will feature 16 characters (4 are new fighters to the series) with additional fighters being added regularly after launch (6 fighters are planned for 2016). In an interesting twist on DLC, players will be able to unlock the new characters with either "Zenny" (real world money) or "Fight Money" (earned in-game currency). This means that players can gain access to the DLC by simply earning in-game money bypassing the need to pay real money for digital goods. This is a positive move for DLC and hopefully, more games will follow this model.

The end of the week will see the latest release in the hugely popular Fire Emblem series with Fire Emblem Fates for the 3DS. The game will come in 2 unique versions known as Birthright and Conquest which offer 2 completely different story's which chronicle both sides of the same conflict. Players who purchase both version will be given a third story for free titled Revelation as DLC. All 3 story's combined will give players the complete and full epic tale. Enjoy!

New Releases This Week (1/19/16)

The new year is starting with a survival horror classic in the form of Resident Evil Origins Collection for XB1 and PS4. The game is an HD remastered version of both Resident Evil REmake and Resident Evil Zero which originally launched on the GameCube back in 2002. Both games chronicle the fate of S.T.A.R.S. Alpha and Bravo teams giving deeper insight into the original Raccoon City zombie outbreak that made Resident Evil such a classic series. An absolute must own for true survival horror fans who want real horror, exploration and puzzles instead of the tired old action horror which has dominated the series for the last decade.

Nintendo 3DS owners will be treated to the latest RPG in the long running Mario & Luigi series with Mario & Luigi Paper Jam. Paper Jam will be the first crossover with Nintendo's other adventure RPG series, Paper Mario. The combination of these 2 series will offer a variety of new gameplay styles drawing concepts from over 15 years and 8 games. Nintendo 3DS is the definitive system for RPG's in 2016 and Mario & Luigi Paper Jam is leading the pack. Enjoy!
